Finally got around to doing another painting.... again, a gift for someone. This is a 5"x7" gouache and watercolour on illustration board. I REALLY enjoyed painting this... ducklings are so adorable, so the subject matter kept me smiling. These photos were taken with my iphone 3, so the quality is not very good, but you get the idea!

A rare scenery painting!
This is a terrible photo (taken with my iphone) of a recent large painting I did of our local scenery. But - gives the basic idea of what it's all about.... our dramatic skies! I rarely paint scenery, and wasn't sure I could pull it off... but I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. I really must take some better photos of it and post them... maybe soon.

Another portrait
A watercolour painting I did as a birthday gift for a dear friend of her beloved cat which passed away. I should have taken a photo of it after it was beautifully framed.... oops.

"The Look"
8"x10" Acrylic on Canvas
A practice portrait... clearly I was still in the mood to paint people...

"Isabella's Rose"
11"x 14" Acrylic on Canvas
A red carpet premier perhaps? This woman exudes the glamour and charm of a bygone era. I don't paint people often, but this painting was quite enjoyable... perhaps I'll paint a few more pieces similar to this...

Pelican
I love the Australian Pelicans... my favorite birds! Because of their striking black and white feathers, I thought a study in black and white might workout O.K.

"Petite Fleur"
I painted this yesterday... instead of going to the river for a swim, I opted for a relaxing day on the porch to paint. Well - I started off on the porch but after battling gusts of wind for some time, I moved inside... The whole process was so distracting and agreeable, that I decided I really must paint more often... It's been years since I've picked up a paintbrush of the "artistic" kind.... This painting is of some lovely flowers that a friend gave me.
